Youth Development Camps

Each year, Surf Life Saving WA strives to deliver initiatives targeted at engaging our youth members with the aim of developing future leaders of our organisation. Season 2016/17 will see SLSWA deliver three youth orientated camps;

CAD Camp

CAD is an exciting new camp offered by SLSWA. It is specifically designed for 13 to 16 year old members who wish to enhance and develop their surf sports skills under the tuition of some of the state’s top level coaches.

Age Group: U14s – U17s
Venue: Geraldton Camp School, Geraldton
Date: 18 – 21 December 2016
Cost: $370.00 per person
Participants: Minimum of 2 positions per club with the possibility of additional positions offered to clubs based on the number of youths participants in Surf Sports events
Coaches/Leaders: Up to 7 total

Teamwork, Opportunities and Development (TOAD) Camp

The TOAD Camp is a development program open to 13 and 14 year old members. The camp is designed to expose participants to a variety of skills and activities that will enhance and encourage their development within our organisation.

Age Group: U14s and U15s
Venue: Kingstown Barracks, Rottnest Island
Date: 16 – 19 January 2017
Cost: $370.00 per person
Departure: Rous Head, Northport Terminal Rous Head
Participants: Minimum of 2 positions per club with the possibility of additional positions offered to clubs based on the size of their youth membership
Leaders: Up to 7

Rise Up Camp

The Rise Up Camp is designed to cater for 15 and 16 year old members. This camp provides an opportunity for members to participate in a wide range of physical and social activities that will develop personal leadership skills.

Age Group: U17s
Venue: Pemberton Camp School, Pemberton
Date: 9 – 12 January 2017
Cost: $370.00 per person
Participants: Minimum of 1 position per club with the possibility of additional positions offered to clubs based on the size of their youth membership
Leaders: Up to 5
